Omis (Central Dalmatia, Croatia) is located 21 km south from Split, in region Central Dalmatia, Croatia. It is located on estuary of river Cetina. River Cetina is passing through stone doors into the sea. It is beautiful natural sight. Omis is located on area of 266 km2.

Omis was first time mentioned in 10th century. Omis was called Olmissium in Medieval. Inhabitants were very known pirates.

Omis was under Venetian domination from 1444. In 1797. it was under Austrian, and from 1805. under French domination. Today, Omis is part of independent Republic of Croatia.
